If so, we have an opportunity for an Office Assistant to join our team in Balmain, NSW, on a casual basis. The hours will be 20-25 per week and can be worked across 4 or 5 days per week. What You Can Look Forward To Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, you will have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities in administration, finance, and customer service - and you’ll find yourself thriving in a fast-paced environment where a typical day in the office is rarely dull! The Svitzer Australia head office overlooks Mort Bay in Balmain. As well as the stunning views, you will be provided with free onsite parking, daily catered lunch and the opportunity to join an exciting, challenging and energetic team. What You Will Do Your key responsibilities in this position will include:
  • General reception and switchboard duties
  • Meeting and function support including room bookings and catering
  • Maintain office consumables, stationery, and other supplies
  • Organise building and facilities maintenance and repairs
  • Raise requisitions for purchase orders and process invoices.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new office-based employees including office tours, desk setup and issuing access passes.
  • Assisting in preparation of Greenhouse/sustainability reporting
  • Assisting in preparation of ABS surveys
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.
What You Will Need To Succeed To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in reception or general office administration will be favourable but not essential
  • Competency with various computer programs including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • A strong degree of initiative and willingness to contribute to team cohesion and performance
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • A calm, pleasant and respectful manner when to dealing with people
